Staff Spotlight – Linda Jones

Q. Linda, how long have you been working at Wiltshire Friendly Society?

I joined the Society on 4 June 2018, so just over 3 years now.

Q. What are the main responsibilities of your job?

I oversee and manage the Operations team. This involves managing member enquiries, new membership applications and benefit claims, also supporting the Operations team in delivering the best member service we can.

Q. What do you like best about your job?

It is important for me to work for an organisation who are customer focused and customer centric, and this is something the whole team strive to deliver. We have a great team, who are supportive to each other and like to have fun along the way.

Q. What does a good day look like for you?

I am a lover of a ‘to do’ list, so starting the day knowing what I need to achieve and finishing the day feeling like I have accomplished what I have set out to do.

Q. As a Member, should I be reassured you exist?

One of my key priorities is treating customers fairly and supporting our vulnerable members, so I will always ensure that this is at the core of every decision that is made.

Q. What do you like to do in your time outside of work?

My family is my biggest priority, so spending time with my kids, making memories and sharing experiences is what I live for. I play for a local netball team and visit the gym with my daughter. I also love to get involved in DIY and have spent a lot of time throughout the pandemic turning my hand to different projects within the house.

Q. And finally, how would your colleagues at work describe you?

A ‘feeder’. I continually supply different food treats for the team on a weekly basis, it makes them happy though might not help their waistline!
