If you’re experiencing challenging times, or you’re worried about financial matters, we are here to help you find the right support.
This page tells you about the type of support the Society can offer, and where you can find other Independent Charities and Organisations who can support you.
Here are some ways the Society can support you.
Financial Support
The UK is facing a cost of living crisis and millions of people are having to make difficult choices about their finances, in some cases choosing between feeding their families and paying their bills.
We may not be able to influence what's happening in the world, but we can help you should you wish to reduce your outgoings temporarily.
The support we can offer will depend on the type of plan you have and how long you are looking for assistance.
- You can take a short Term payment holiday or apply to withdraw part of your Cash Sum*.
- You can apply to temporarily suspend your membership.
- If you are unable to work due to illness or injury, you may be able to make a claim for Sickness Benefit.
* Application for Cash Sum withdrawals are only available to Holloway Members.
Health Support
- You can make a claim for Sickness Benefit.
- The Society will provide a dedicated named contact to support you during your claim.
Support with Managing your Membership
We can support you with managing your membership. Examples of support we can offer include:
- Additional telephone support if you need help to understand Society letters or need assistance with the completion of forms.
- Web chat for members with hearing impairments.
- Changing our letters so that they can be read more easily, for example by increasing the size of the font.
- Face-to-face support if you live locally and are able to attend the Society’s office in Trowbridge.
If you’re experiencing challenging times please call us on 01225 752120, or email info@wiltshirefriendly.com, so we can discuss the relevant options and look at tailoring our services to support you.
