Society Administrator (part time)

 

Wiltshire Friendly Society is a small mutual insurer offering Income Protection insurance. We are recruiting a part time Society Administrator who will be responsible for the administration of sickness benefit claims, policy closures and retirements to our members alongside the daily coordination of post and other general administrative support.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration of membership (policy) closures and retirements.
  • Administration of general membership requests such as changes of address, change of name and nominations.
  • Coordination of inbound post to the team.
  • Administration support of Sickness Benefit claims and payments.
  • Facilities and meeting support and procurement of stationery.

 

Key Skills and Experience

 

Essential

  • 3 years’ experience of  administration.
  • 3 years’ experience of customer service call handling.
  • Confident in the ability to navigate around folder structures and in the use of Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent communication and a genuine desire to support our members.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Intuitive and able to use good judgement.
  • Organised and able to prioritise work effectively.

 

Desirable

  • Experience of working within financial services.
  • Experience of working with mail merge.

 

This is a part time position working Monday to Friday 8.45am to 2.00pm.  We may consider flexibility in relation to agreeing permanent start and finish times in relation to this role, but you must be able to work 26.25 hours, including the core hours of 9.30am to 2.00pm.  Any flexible request may be discussed at interview.

 

The salary for this role is £23,751 pro rata (£17,199 actual).

 

The contractual place of work for this role will be the Society’s office in Trowbridge, however the Society is currently operating a discretionary hybrid working pattern where employees work from home two days per week (one of which is normally a Friday).  As this role involves remote working, you would need to ensure that you had a place you could work in your home which was free from distractions or interruption, with good broadband speed of at least 50mbps.

 

Although discretionary hybrid working is currently operational, you must always be available to attend the office if requested to do so.  We will also ask you to attend the office 4 days per week during your initial induction so that we can support you with your training plan.
