Income Protection for Football Players

Playing football increases the risk of injury and hence the risk of you not being able to carry out your job and get paid.

Wiltshire Friendly has been working with professional sports people since 2011. We have built an understanding of sporting injuries that enables us to insure players at professional, semi-professional and amateur levels, so whatever level you play at we have a plan to suit your requirements.

The plans are insurance policies designed to replace a proportion of income lost when you are unable to follow your occupation(s) due to illness or injury, whether that occurs whilst playing football or not.

Whether you’re playing for the love of the game at amateur level, playing semi-professionally and earning income from a ‘day job’ and from your club, or whether you are a full-time professional football player in the lower football leagues (National Leagues and below) Wiltshire Friendly can help you protect against potential financial hardship caused through not being able to work.

What type of player are you? Please click on the relevant button below to find out more details of our football plans. Alternatively, if you would like to know more, please click the link at the bottom of this page and we will be in touch with you as soon as we can.

Our professional and semi-professional plan terms are created specifically for football players who have player contracts, and earn income, from playing football.

You choose the amount of cover and benefit payment terms, within defined limits, to suit your requirements and to work with any existing sick pay from your club or existing income protection you might have.

We believe that you should have all the facts available when making your decision as to the suitability of the plan. That's why we have created a clear Terms Summary alongside the normal Policy Summary.

For an amateur football player, we offer our standard individual plan designed to insure the ‘day job’, whether employed or self-employed. You choose the amount of cover and benefit payment terms, within defined limits, to suit your requirements.

To acknowledge the extra risk that comes with playing football, we add specific terms applying to any football related injury. It is important to point out that any illness or injury which is non-football related does not have the football terms applied.

We believe that you should have all the facts available when making your decision as to the suitability of the plan. That's why we have created clear Terms for playing amateur football, alongside the normal Policy Summary.
